اصطلاحاتی درباره ی به خاطر داشتن، فراموش کردن، قول دادن:

 

1. I clean forgot: پاک یادم رفت

 

?A: Why didn’t you call me back

.B:I clean forgot. You know, I had a terrible day yesterday

2. A man of his word: خوش قول، قابل اعتماد 

 

A: David promised he would help me with my computer science project. Can I depend on that?

B: Sure you can. He’s a man of his word. You can be one hundred .percent sure

3. Stick to one’s word: پای حرف خود ایستادن 

 

?A: Remember you said you’d always back me up in hard times

B: I always stick to my word. Whenever you need help, I’ll be there .for you

4. Lose sight of sth: فراموش کردن ، از یاد بردن چیزی

 

A: I want to get a part time teaching job to help me pay my college .tuition

B: That’s a good idea but never lose sight of your ultimate goal. You’re supposed to be a dentist
